Service / Maintenance Technician – Building Technical Systems (m/f/d)

About this role

Kältetechnik Ollbrink is a longstanding Bochum company with more than 40 years in refrigeration, air-conditioning, and ventilation technology, now grown to over 100 employees across three locations. As the company expands its technical service division, it’s looking for someone who doesn’t just fix faults but analyzes them systematically and develops solutions independently — from residential jobs to large-scale projects. Because this part of the business is still being built out, there’s real room to help shape processes rather than stepping into a fixed system.

Job description

• Independent maintenance, inspection, and minor repair of technical building systems
• Systematic fault analysis and development of practical fixes
• Cross-discipline work across ventilation, heating, building automation/controls, electrical systems, and refrigeration/AC
• Clear documentation in maintenance and service logs, using test equipment and technical records
• Acting as the primary on-site contact for customers
• Coordinating with the back office; assignments are regional and, depending on the job, nationwide, planned in advance

Requirements

• Completed technical apprenticeship, ideally in refrigeration/AC, heating-ventilation-sanitary systems, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or building automation
• Experience in technical service or facility maintenance is a plus but not required — willingness to learn matters more than complete coverage of every discipline
• Technical understanding beyond your own trade, and interest in new equipment
• Independent, structured, solution-oriented approach with a customer-facing manner
• Class B driver’s license and general willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays
