Senior Service Process Engineer — Tesla, London, England

Company: Tesla  |  Location: London, England  |
Department: Vehicle Service  |  Job Type: Full-time

About This Senior Service Process Engineer Job in London

Every Tesla Service Center depends on a small crew of technicians and advisors who actually touch the cars and talk to the customers — this role is one of those seats. Tesla has an opening for a Senior Service Process Engineer based in London, England, working within its Vehicle Service function.

This isn’t a desk-based process role. Tesla wants someone willing to travel up to half their time across the EMEA region, auditing service locations, coaching local teams, and acting as an informal problem-solver for whatever is holding a region’s service KPIs back. The listing notes the successful candidate should ideally be based in the Schengen Area and hold a valid EU passport.

London hosts a large share of Tesla’s UK corporate and support functions, alongside the retail and service footprint spread across the country.

What the Role Involves

  • Run audits and checks across assigned regions, turning findings into concrete improvement plans
  • Act as an informal service leader for a region, acting as a trusted problem-solver for local leadership
  • Drive service KPI performance, including warranty spend, within assigned regions
  • Spot cross-regional trends and partner with peers on larger, EMEA-wide improvement projects
  • Contribute to developing new service standards, processes and shared resources
  • Track the impact of improvement work using dashboards and data

What Tesla Is Looking For

  • Significant experience in service operations, including inspections, checks or audit work
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across a wide range of audiences and seniority levels
  • A self-starting, First-Principles approach to solving problems under pressure
  • Comfortable with data-driven decision-making
  • Willingness to travel up to roughly 50% of the time across EMEA
  • Ideally based in the Schengen Area and holding a valid EU passport; prior Tesla Service experience is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

Tesla did not publish a specific salary figure for this role at the time of writing. Compensation is typically discussed directly with candidates during the interview process and will depend on experience and location. Tesla’s standard European benefits generally include a mix of stock-based reward (RSUs or an employee stock purchase option), structured training, and site-specific benefits. Always confirm the exact package for this role directly with Tesla during the application process.

Our Take

The mission framing in Tesla’s own listing (“accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy”) shows up a lot. But underneath it, this is a concrete, specific job with a clear scope.

EU Job Hub Guidance: Senior Service Process Engineer role in London

A service process engineer looks at how repairs and maintenance are carried out and finds ways to make them faster and safer. The work mixes data, workshop knowledge and communication. A senior title suggests you will set standards that others follow. Show that you can map a process, measure delays and lead a change without upsetting the people who do the daily work. Experience in automotive service, lean methods or quality systems is a good fit.

Application and interview checklist

  • Bring one example where you shortened a repair or service time.
  • Be ready to describe a process map you created.
  • Explain how you would collect feedback from technicians.
  • Review lean tools such as root cause analysis.
  • Ask how many service sites the role would cover.

Before you move or commute

Service roles often involve visits to workshops outside the main office. Ask whether the role needs a driving licence and how much travel to expect. UK employers commonly ask for references from the last two employers. Tell your referees in advance, so they can reply quickly when the company contacts them.
