Training guide
A plain guide to the SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 learning journey: the units, the time each takes, who it suits and how it links to the certification.
EU Job Hub Editorial Team · Updated 1 October 2026 · Based on SAP Learning journey and course pages
SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 is SAP’s cloud product for managing sales work. SAP offers a free learning journey on its Learning site to teach it. This guide explains what that journey contains and who it suits.
The facts come from SAP Learning. Some course pages carry a different name from this guide’s title, so check the official page for the current names and times.
| Provider | SAP |
| Product | SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 |
| Format | Learning journey with units and lessons |
| Cost | Free on SAP Learning. The certification exam is separate. |
| Prerequisite | Basic knowledge of CRM sales processes |
| Roles | Business users, administrators and consultants |
SAP says the journey teaches the functions and setup of the product. Business users learn the benefits and daily uses. Administrators and consultants study the technical settings and how to adapt the system.
SAP says the first unit explains the key capabilities and the difference between Version 2 and the earlier SAP Sales Cloud. It also shows how to log in and move around.
Two units follow users through a working day. One follows a sales representative and takes about 1 hour 32 minutes. Another follows a sales manager and takes about 59 minutes.
The representative’s unit looks at tasks such as guided selling, task management and visit management. The manager’s unit looks at KPI evaluation, forecasting and pipeline management.
The administrator unit is the longest at about 2 hours 57 minutes. A separate unit of about 42 minutes introduces machine learning.
SAP’s course page also mentions generative AI features, such as the CX AI Toolkit, and links with Microsoft Teams. It lists relationship intelligence and a mobile app as well.
Another unit covers managing leads, opportunities and quotes. These are the core steps of a sales process, so the unit is a good place for non-technical learners to focus.
If you work in sales, follow the same flow with a sample customer. Write down each stage in your own words.
SAP says the certification checks fundamentals and administration knowledge at consultant level for the product. The learning journey is the preparation route.
The exam is a separate step. Check SAP’s certification pages for the current fee and rules.
The journey suits sales staff who will use the system. It also suits administrators and consultants who set it up. People with no CRM background should read an introduction to sales processes first.
If your company uses an older SAP sales product, confirm that you are learning the right version.
Work through the units in order. Start with the first unit so that you know the product’s vocabulary. Then take the unit that matches your own role.
Take notes as you go. Write down each feature and one sentence on how it would help a real salesperson. These notes become a useful summary for interviews.
If you are an administrator, repeat the setup steps in a test system when you can. If you are a business user, map your own sales stages to the flow in the product. Both habits make the ideas stick.
Do not treat the journey as a certification. It is free learning. The exam is a separate step.
Do not skip the first unit. It explains how Version 2 differs from the older SAP Sales Cloud.
Do not claim product skills you have not practised. Interviewers often ask for an example.
SAP skills are in demand at consultancies and large companies across Europe. Job titles include CRM consultant, sales operations analyst and SAP application consultant.
List the learning journey on your CV with the product name and the units you finished. Do not call it a certification unless you passed the exam.
SAP lists the learning journey as free. The certification exam has its own fee.
