Training guide
A plain guide to learning SAP Service Cloud Version 2: the exploring course, the implementation topics, the onboarding course and who each one suits.
EU Job Hub Editorial Team · Updated 1 October 2026 · Based on SAP Learning course and learning journey pages
SAP Service Cloud Version 2 is SAP’s cloud product for customer service teams. SAP Learning offers a course and a learning journey for it. This guide explains what they cover and how to use them.
The facts come from SAP Learning pages. Course names and times change, so check the official page before you start.
| Provider | SAP |
| Product | SAP Service Cloud Version 2 |
| Main course | Exploring SAP Service Cloud Version 2 |
| Format | Short lessons with a knowledge quiz |
| Roles | Customer service users, administrators and consultants |
| Cost | Check SAP Learning. The onboarding course is listed as free. |
The exploring course introduces the product and its new features. SAP’s course page lists five short lessons. These run from about 10 to 30 minutes each.
They cover first engagement, service operations and field service. They also cover AI in the product, the customer service process, and the tools and support resources for service staff.
The next topics are for administrators and consultants. SAP’s pages list starting the implementation, master data setup and creating service objects.
Further topics are setting up case management, configuring service elements and configuring communication channels. A final topic gives an overview of integration with other systems.
A service case is the record of one customer problem. It holds the questions, the replies and the result. Good case settings decide how fast a team finds and fixes issues.
If you are new to this, picture a support ticket. Then map each field in the product to a step in your own process.
Customers contact a company in many ways. The course covers setting up communication channels, so that messages reach the right team.
Think about which channels your own customers use. Then check how each would be set up and who would answer it.
SAP also offers a course called Cloud Onboarding for SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2. It is listed as free and runs for more than five hours.
It is aimed at new customers who start an implementation project. It covers project planning with the SAP Activate methodology and Cloud ALM, and how to get support.
The exploring course suits service agents and team leads. The implementation topics suit administrators and consultants. A project manager can use the onboarding course.
Beginners should finish the exploring course first, before any setup topics.
Begin with the exploring course. Take each lesson in order and use the quiz at the end to check yourself. If a quiz result is low, go back to the lesson before you continue.
Write a simple service process from your own work or an example company. List the steps from the first customer message to the closed case. Then match each step to a topic in the course.
Consultants should note the setup order: master data first, then service objects, case management, service elements and channels. Knowing the order helps in project conversations.
Do not mix up Version 2 with the older service product. Names are similar, but the tools differ.
Do not skip the quizzes. They show which lesson to repeat before you move on.
Do not list the course as a certificate on your CV unless SAP issued one.
Customer service platforms are used by many European companies. Job titles include customer service systems analyst, SAP functional consultant and service operations specialist.
On your CV, list the topics you studied and one example of a process you mapped. Avoid calling the course a certification.
Yes. SAP markets it as a newer product. Check the first lesson for the differences.
Check the prerequisites on the course page. Customer service knowledge helps.
SAP lists the onboarding course as free. Check the other pages for cost.
Add up the lesson times on the official page.
Check SAP Learning for the badge or certificate rules that apply.
Titles to search for include customer service analyst, SAP functional consultant and service operations specialist. Search current vacancies on the EURES portal.
