Training guide
A plain guide to learning SAP SuccessFactors on SAP Learning: the beginner course, the suite journey and what each covers.
EU Job Hub Editorial Team · Updated 1 October 2026 · Based on the official SAP Learning pages
SAP SuccessFactors courses are available on SAP Learning, and some are free. SuccessFactors is SAP’s cloud software for human resources. The old page title, “Human Experience Management”, came from older openSAP courses that SAP has replaced.
This guide explains the beginner course and the suite journey. It also shows who they suit and how to use them in a job search in Europe. Check the SAP page for the current list.
| Provider | SAP, on the SAP Learning site |

SuccessFactors is a cloud suite for human resources. It supports hiring, onboarding, performance, learning and pay.
Companies use it to run the employee lifecycle in one system.
The platform introduction course is a beginner option of about 8.5 hours. It shows how the platform works before you study a single module.
Start here if you have never used the system.
SAP’s suite journey explains the concepts and capabilities of the suite. It names areas such as Employee Central, Recruiting and Onboarding.
It also names Performance and Goals, Learning, Succession Management, Compensation and People Analytics.
After the journey, administrators and consultants should be able to identify the basic functions of each solution.
Earlier, openSAP ran free courses on human experience management. They covered employee experience and strategy.
SAP pages now say these courses were replaced by the SuccessFactors learning journey. Follow the links on those pages to reach the current content.
SAP also offers customer courses on individual modules. Some content is delivered through the SuccessFactors Administrator Learning Center.
SAP states that you must be a licensed customer for that centre. The free SAP Learning content is the easier place to start.
Pick one HR process, such as onboarding a new hire. Follow it through each module and note where data moves.
Keep a glossary of terms like position, goal and calibration. HR vocabulary is half the work.
Do not try to learn every module at once.
Do not ignore HR basics. The tool follows real HR processes.
Do not claim customer access you do not have.
Do you work in HR or want to? The courses suit HR staff and administrators.
Do you need hands-on access? Ask your employer or a training provider.
Learn a few words early. Employee Central is the core record of employee data. Onboarding covers the first weeks of a new hire.
Performance and goals support reviews. Succession management plans who may fill key roles. A short glossary makes every lesson easier.
An administrator sets up fields, rules and permissions. They also answer user questions and test changes before release.
Small mistakes can affect many people, so careful testing is part of the job.
Draw the path of a new hire from offer to first review. Mark which module handles each step.
Write three questions an HR manager might ask the system. Then find which course unit answers each one.
SAP skills are in demand at consultancies, manufacturers and public bodies across Europe. Roles include HR systems administrator, HR analyst and SuccessFactors consultant trainee.
Add the badge or course to your Europass CV, with the year. Mention the HR process you studied.
The course does not give a right to work. Check national rules if you need a visa.
SAP Learning lists some courses as free. Check the page you choose.
About 8.5 hours.
SAP says they were replaced.
Customer content may need one. Public SAP Learning content does not.
No. Hiring depends on the employer and your skills.
Titles to search for include HR systems administrator, HR analyst and SuccessFactors consultant. Search current vacancies on the EURES portal.
Read the current details on the SAP Learning page for the SuccessFactors platform introduction.
This guide is independent and is not affiliated with the course provider. Prices, course lists and exam rules change, so check the official page before you enrol. A certificate does not give you the right to work in any country.
