Training guide
A plain guide to the Meta Front-End Developer Certificate: nine courses, the skills you practise, the time it takes and how to show your work.
EU Job Hub Editorial Team · Updated 1 October 2026 · Based on the official Coursera professional certificate page
The Meta Front-End Developer Certificate is an online programme from Meta, hosted on Coursera. It teaches the skills for building the visible part of websites and web apps.
This guide explains what the programme covers and how long it takes. It also shows how to use it in a job search in Europe. The facts come from the official Coursera page, so check it for the latest course list.

Coursera says you learn to use React with JavaScript libraries and frameworks. You also learn the Bootstrap CSS framework to create web pages, and you work with GitHub repositories and version control.
The final stage prepares you for a coding interview. It teaches approaches to problem solving and helps you build portfolio-ready projects to share with employers.
The page also names an ACE credit recommendation.
Coursera suggests about 7 months at 6 hours a week. Course lengths run from about 11 to 48 hours. The second course is the longest in the listing.
Together they add up to about 230 hours. Plan breaks and keep your routine steady.
Rebuild a page you like using HTML, CSS and a little JavaScript. Then rebuild it with React components.
Put each result online and keep the code in a public repository. A recruiter can then open your link in seconds.
Plan six hours a week. Spend four on lessons and two on building your own small pages.
Check your work on a phone each week. Many visitors use small screens.
Do not copy tutorial code unchanged. Change colours, text and layout so the result is yours.
Do not skip version control. Employers expect to see your commits.
Do not apply for senior roles. Look for junior front-end titles.
Front-end ads often mention HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React. Many also ask for accessibility and testing.
Make your projects usable with a keyboard and readable on small screens. That sets your portfolio apart.
Do you enjoy making things people can see and click? Front-end work is visual and detailed.
Do you already build pages? Check that the courses add something new.
The programme suits beginners and career changers who want a web career. It also suits designers who want to code.
It may be too slow for someone who already writes React daily.
Front-end roles appear in agencies, shops and software firms across Europe. Titles include junior front-end developer, React developer and web developer.
Add your portfolio link to your Europass CV. Many employers want to see live examples.
The certificate does not give a right to work. Check national visa rules if needed.
Choose two or three projects and finish them well. A neat, working page is worth more than many half-built ones. Add a readme that explains the goal and the tools used.
Include one project that uses React components and one simple page built by hand. Together they show that you understand the basics as well as the framework.
Write a short note on a design choice you made and why. It shows that you think about users.
Keep building after the last course. Add one new feature to your best project each month. This keeps your skills fresh and gives you something new to discuss.
Start applying while you finish the final courses. Interview practice takes time, so begin early.
Ask a friend or mentor to review your code. Fresh eyes spot problems you miss.
